Before even I completed reading the book "The art and science of low carbohydrate living" I realized how dangerous it is to have carbohydrates on a regular basis as the main fuel to my body. I however did not know what to eat if I got rid of Rice and Wheat. Though there were a lot of books, Articles and Videos about Ketogenic diets and recipes they were mostly from western countries. There were a few Intelligent Indians who had followed and written about their ketogenic diets and recipes. However it was not sufficient. Especially since I was a Vegetarian who does not eat even eggs. On top of this my Wife who cooks all my food was crying after seeing what I am trying to get rid of. And my Mom and In-Laws also got to know about this and started questioning the validity of a diet which gets rid of Rice. My office colleagues also were questioning the basic premise of the diet. However eventually everybody started supporting me though they had at least some doubt
Assume that a man sees girl 1 on day 1. Let it generate 100 pleasure molecules in amygdala(emotional part of the brain). We do not have exact measuring instruments in brain to register the number 100. An approximate image and descriptions of the girl will be stored in, say, Neuron Group 1(NG1). On day 2, he sees girl 2. Let it generate 90 pleasure molecules in amygdala. Now the man tries to compare girl 2 with girl 1. We have NG1 which projects the approximate image of girl 1. Amygdala may generate 80 molecules for the approximate images of girl 1. And we have Neuron Group 2(NG2) which compares the approximate image of girl 1 and the now present image of girl 2. ( Actually NG2 compares the signals generated by Amygdala for approximate images of girl 1 and the now present images of girl 2) Though, in reality, girl 1 looks more prettier than girl2 for the man, the fact that he could only use the approximate images of girl1 screws up the results of the comp
http://www.inner-growth.info/power_of_now_tolle/eckhart_tolle_interview_cohen.htm The world that we live in now has much greater density to it; it is much more all-pervasive. And when I say "world," I include the human mind in it. The human mind has grown even since the time of the Buddha, 2,500 years ago. The human mind is more noisy and more all-pervasive, and the egos are bigger. There's been an ego growth over thousands of years; it's growing to a point of madness, with the ultimate madness having been reached in the twentieth century. One only needs to read twentieth-century history to see that it has been the climax of human madness, if it's measured in terms of human violence inflicted on other humans. So in the present time, we can't escape from the world anymore; we can't escape from the mind. We need to enter surrender while we are in the world. That seems to be the path that is effective in the world that we live in now. It may be that at the
